Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

Another Sunday, another bike race! Keith had a mountain bike race up at Igawanis boy scout camp. We fell asleep at 9pm Saturday night so we had a good nights sleep when we got up at 6:30 Sunday morning. The drive up was nice and we got their early so Keith was able to ride the course before the beginners started. The day was gorgeous, sunny and warm! Keith's group started at 11:10 and the boys and I were waiting in the woods for him! He came through 1st in the group...which was HUGE! I'm glad he was in front so he wouldn't get slowed down by some of the other guys. The race was long, 1.5 hours! It only got hotter as the race went. The boys and I were running all over the woods to take pics. It was fun. MTB races are fun, you can get close to the racers. There was one switchback up a steep hill that I ran along side Keith talking to him. I probably should have left him alone so he could concentrate on riding, but I was trying to motivate him to go faster! Anyway, the race was done and Keith thought he was in the top 10. The race people had food for everyone. A yummy pasta dish, apples, fruit cup and sandwiches, all for a donation. It was delicious and we didn't have to stop on the way home to grab some food. We waited around for results and awards. They started and we were quite surprised to hear Keith got 2nd place!! Go Keith! We're not sure of all the official times and how many others were in his field, because they don't have results online yet. As his award, Keith picked out a nice pair of sunglasses ($140value). Plus we got some gift certificates to RoadID. Overall a great race and day to be outside!!

Back home, the lawn got mowed for the 1st time this year. Looks much better. We also found a baby bunny (maybe more) is living in our rhubarb. Thankfully they are not living in the grass this year!

Hum, I think that about covers our Sunday. Another early bedtime was due! Here's another pic I took of the boys at the race.
