Dentist and bikes

Kaden is still so bummed he doesn't have a geared bike. I don't blame him, but we haven't found a good one for him yet. Seems all the kids bikes are SO heavy! He says he's found the perfect one (each time we see one) just to get one. He's not in dire need of one yet, just jealous! Heck I'm jealous too. I want a nicer bike, one that I can take on the road. But it ain't happening yet. I especially have to wait for Kaden to get one before I do. And even then it'll be a long time. Probably next year for me. Ah Kaden and I can take our mountain bikes on the trails while Salem and daddy hit the road.

Speaking of which, they did that tonight. We went over to Squaw Creek park tonight after the rain stopped and it had dried out a bit. Kaden brought some cars to play on the playground at the top of the hill. We pull up and they've taken out the playground!! OH NO! Pissed off boy! I managed to keep him happy for a while, then he called Grandma. By that time, the other boys were down riding. Salem and daddy did 3 laps for a total of 5.5 miles! Could have done more, but Salem was getting worn out from the climb in there. There is also a downhill where they reached some fast speeds! I hate hearing how fast Keith goes down hill, where as the kids ask him how fast he went the moment he walks in the door. Anyway tonight, Salem went 30 mph down hill! I yelled at Keith for taking our little boy that fast! Not seriously yelling, but scared me! Salem said he was a bit frightened by it as well. We're gonna have to pick the kid up some gloves! Here's a funny pick of the two of them starting to take off.

Earlier this morning Ang had a dentist appointment. Dreading this one for a couple years actually! I had to have 2 root canals done. I've got temporary things in place now until I go back for the 2 crowns. The dental work wasn't as bad as I thought. He numbed me pretty well and it only took a hour. Worst part was when he stuck the little needles in to see how far the root went down. Then I had to walk over to the xray machine and not being able to bite down at all. I'm sure I looked quite funny! Don't think I drooled too much. Our insurance covered a bit more than what we first thought, so that was nice. But the crowns are going to be a pretty penny! Darn dental work!

Keith goes on call tomorrow, so not sure of his riding schedule or Salem's. Salem's all gun ho about riding and riding and riding. But we don't want him to over ride. I know kinda hard to do with only 5 miles or so at a time, but these are harder than the riding he normally does around the house and such. I'm looking online and at books to get an idea on how to help him along. There are plenty of other cities that have great junior training coaches, but not CR :( We'll work with him...and Keith to get better!
