Alot of "girls" around here!

Wow, what has happened to my boys?? Salem is still safe from the "girly-ness" going around. Kaden started it Thursday night. Keith was at his bike training thing and Kaden was bored. A bored Kaden is NEVER a good thing! Through his school he has started a healthy living extra activity thing outside of school. Kind of hard to explain, sorry. One of the activities they have is a jar of slips of paper with different activities for them to chose from. Some examples are run up and down the stairs 5 times, or put on music and dance, or decorate a light switch. Fun easy things for the kids to do. Kaden chose one that said "put on a fashion show", he was ecstatic! I figured he'd come down in all sorts of crazy clothes he has like his overalls and bike shirt, or his bike shorts and suit jacket. Nope he came down in this...Yeah he got into the back of his closet and found my dresses. Very scary!! He also came down in these outfits...
I stopped it at this one afraid he was going to come down in my wedding dress next (which was in the same bag as this crinoline.) He had fun while it lasted and gave me a good chuckle!

Then came Saturday night. I was painting my nails and Keith decided he was going to have some fun too. He painted his 2 thumbs chrome with glitter overcoat. Kaden then decided he needed his done too. He got all his nails done with the glitter overcoat. That wasn't good enough he had to have his toes done too. I have no probs doing the toes as they are stuck in shoes, so he went wild choosing the colors and each toe was different! It was kind of fun having some estrogen flow around the house in harmless fashion. But enough of that, I need my dirty boys and their hot wheels now!

Wacky Wednesday? Nope, I guess it's Thursday.

I don't think it was too wacky today, little bit, but not too bad. Heck it's not even Wednesday, shows how much I'm out of it! I worked today and the kid I was assigned to was having a very off day. I'm going to blame it on the weather. We did have some weather today! At first they were calling for ice and snow, but then it changed to just ice and then rain. We ended up just getting rain and thunderstorms, which started just as we sent the K and 1st graders out to recess, they came running back in screaming and soaking wet, lol. Oops! The rain went on and off for a while and then came the lightening and thunder! You'd think with how the class I was in was acting they have never seen that stuff before! And when it started POURING down rain, you'd think they weren't here last year with the floods and all the rain we got! They were wild and crazy! Of course this was during inside recess so the teacher did let it go for a little bit, then corralled them into chilling out a bit. He's pretty relaxed, plus him and I were talking and trying to ignore the kids, but when we had to yell to talk to each other he decided it was too loud! Anyway my kid only ended up in time out once today. He was silly and squirrely and just not right all day, finally it came to head and he needed to go chill out! After that he was pretty good, of course there was only an hour left in the day.

I'm looking forward to not working tomorrow. I put in half a day on Tuesday, full day (although early out) on Wednesday and all day today. I said I need tomorrow to recoup! That and Salem has a big Boy Scout meeting Monday which we are to bring desserts and he wants to make sugar cookies cut out in the shape of the fleur-de-lis. So tomorrow I'll be making the dough. I was hoping to get away with just some dirt salad, but nope, sugar cookies it is this time.

Boys are doing good! Kaden got his report card and is doing very well in school. His multiplication scores went up, yeah! I guess our Skittles game has helped him! Or I'd like to think it has. His subtraction is still low, but his teacher isn't too concerned. He knows his facts, but is just not super fast with them. Maybe we'll start the Skittles game with subtracting. Although they are now onto division, ugh moving so fast!

Salem is gearing up for a busy month with his band and chorus! He has a couple concerts (band and chorus) coming up in March, plus a play they are working on. He has a small speaking part for that one. I need to update my calendar with all his stuff. Plus Boy Scouts is keeping him busy! He's very excited to be going to their meetings! I'm sure it helps he has friends there too. But he even took his BS book to school the other day to read during free time! And I'm happy to say he has turned in his spelling every day this week! Wait now, he didn't turn it in Monday, so was grounded after school on Tuesday. He turned all of it in on Tuesday and has for the rest of the week. We'll see how next week goes though!

Keith doing good too. Working and riding his bike like always. Nothing too exciting with him. He's hoping for some nice weather this weekend to take his mountain bike and hit the local trails. Seems it should be okay this weekend for him!

I'm doing fine. Nothing to report...which is good. I go back to the doc next Friday for another uneventful appointment...don't mind those! I do have a dentist appt on Monday to get my permanent crown, yeah to be done with that! Until May that is when I can get x-rays taken to find all the other issues with my teeth.

So yeah that's about it for now. I'm working on pics, maybe I'll get some more uploaded tomorrow to send out. And I'll try to update the blog over the past week's events.

Soon to be updated!

Haven't forgotten about here...just been busy! Had a wonderful time with my mom being here this past week/end. I'm working on getting pictures uploaded and will send those out in the next few days along with updating the blog here on what's been going on.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

The sun was shinning, the birds were singing and we were trying to open our car doors that were frozen shut. What a way to start the early morning! Actually I don't recall any birds, and I was still half asleep to realize if that was the sun or just a cruel joke by mother nature again.

Kaden had an 8am game this morning which meant a 6:30am wake up call, ugh! It was brutal after staying up so late last night for the hockey game. Atleast all we had to do was sit in the hard chairs and cheer him on drinking our oj and coffee. Kaden had to do all the hard work! He did great the 1st game, tried shooting the ball a couple times. He was great defending too! Then we had an hour break in between games, which we just stayed for. Kaden and his teammates ran around the other part of the school and at one point we heard a bunch of kids saying there was a cop there, and a parent asking for all the black team (Kaden's) to come to the one area. Uh oh! Ends up the parents wanted a team photo of the kids and the cop was there because some girl dialed 911 on the pay phone, oops!

2nd game didn't go too well for Kaden, he was a bit antsy, jumping and dancing around. Not paying too much attention to the game and being silly. I mean he did good, but a big change from the first game where he was very determined to play.

Now basketball is over. The boys are talking about starting to play track which starts in March. I think that will be a great sport for them, or I hope so. Kaden has the long skinny legs for it and Salem has the strength. We'll see how that plays out.

After we got home, I ended up taking a nap for a few hours while Keith rode his bike inside and the boys played..not sure what they didn't wake me up which was good! 5:30 was drop off time at the YMCA for the parent's night out event. Wasn't as busy as what I thought, lots of little kids being dropped off. I figured the boys would have a few people from their school, but only saw 1 Kaden knew, Salem knew no one. They still had a blast they said when we picked them up at 9:30pm. They had pizza, 3 or 4 slices each and a few cups of juice, plus a couple bowls of popcorn later on. The movie stunk they said, it was High School Musical 3, not for them! But the gym was open, so they got to play basketball, ride some scooters, tackle the one helper Brian and play dodgeball. In the downstairs part they got to ride the exercise bikes and yell at the younger kids for turning the lights off on them. Salem didn't do any of the crafts, Kaden did one of them. I thought for sure Kaden would be all over the crafts, but glad the gym was open so they could play in there! That kept them busy! The Y is having another parent's night out in March and the kids want to go. Seems they had enough fun, as long as we are free we'll sign them up again.

Keith and I got shot down for tonight, not sure what we were thinking trying to go out to eat! We drove all over and the parking lots were PACKED! Like, couldn't even park to get our names on any of the lists. So we decided to come home and order carry out from Outback. Food was ready in 30 minutes and we came home and watch the Tour of California (bike race) on tv while we munched under candlelight. Keith had some chicken and shrimp and potatoes with a Guinness to wash it down. I had some pork chops and garlic mashed potatoes. Oh and some of those cheddar bacon fries. It was a non exciting evening, but that's okay, not much else to do that wasn't jammed full of other people. Before we picked up the kids we went to the grocery store and got some brownies for dessert. Yummy, brownies with ice cream!! Quiet evening at homes are okay too!

The kids are in bed, time for us to go as well. I'm starting to get a cold, so wanting to rest as much as possible to keep it at bay! Hope you all had a good Valentine's Day!

Travel NOT advised!

Oops, we failed to see that message before we headed out tonight to a RoughRiders hockey game. I had "won" 2 free tickets and figured we could buy 2 more for the kids. Not a bad deal for a night of fun! Snow forecast said maybe an inch tonight. It started snowing this afternoon and early evening but not too bad. Although as we left for the game we noticed the roads were pretty crappy all over! Very slippery and not plowed, saw 1 car in the ditch, saw a few others having troubles with some hills. But hey, free tickets! Arrived with about 10 minutes before the start of the game, went to get our tickets and was met by a reporter that has done some stories on us for the local paper. Cool, nice to put a face to a voice and email! I told her I won 2, but needed to then go buy 2 more. She said they had plenty due to people not showing up because of the weather and gave us 4 for free!! Sweet, $44 in free tickets, I like that!!

Had some decent seats, very close to the ones we get for scout night. Too bad the game wasn't too good. RoughRiders lost 3-1 :( It was full of penalties (other team), a penalty shot for us (hadn't seen one of them before) and a fight (a good one)! Kaden was excited I was letting them yell out the "bad" words. After we score they play a song, and you yell "hey you suck" at one part. He was sad they didn't score more...secretly I think it was so he could say that more often. I said it was only during that part of the game, nowhere else! Salem sat on the other side of Keith and was going crazy with the cow bell all night long! We let them each get a puck to chuck during the one intermission. Salem got his on the mat they put out but no bulls eye, Keith's ended up not close and we lost sight of Kaden's. I think they still had a good time even though we lost. Oh our team pulled our goalie with 2 minutes to go which the kids hadn't seen before. Still didn't help us win :( Have to say the babies were loving the game! Both were kicking and "dancing" all night long! Kaden got a thrill out of holding his hands on my belly, or just watching my belly move all over from the 2 of them. Oh but we had to be extra careful tonight, the other team was flipping pucks out of the rink like none other! I didn't keep track, but I'd say it was over half a dozen that got shot out of the rink into the stands. Thankfully no one was hit by any. Kaden and Salem were all for wanting to catch one though.

Game was over just after 9pm and it was off to find our car in the sea of snow covered vehicles! Not too bad of a drive home. Slow and steady was the way. Keith parked on the road so we could shovel the driveway before he drove on it and packed the snow down. Ends up right now they are saying 4.8 inches of snow is what we have!!! It's still coming down a bit too. Man, they were SO wrong about our forecast! Even before they were saying only 3" and then they dropped it to 1, slight chance of 2 because the front was dying out. Guess it found some steam cause it hit us hard!! We'll see what tomorrow morning brings! Kaden has 2 games tomorrow. One at 8am (UGH!) and the other at 10am. We'll just stay in between the games and watch the other kids play.

Off to bed, I'm pooped!!! (I took a couple pics, I'll get them up tomorrow)

chech this out, I can blog from my phone! This is crazy!! So much to do with this phone! Kids cant wait for me to put games on it for them. Um no games are for me. I can access my geocaching site which means more ftf for us, if I can get the kids to go along! Ok off to watch the kids playing outside.

Shopping is so much fun!

We've rented this house for almost 6 years now and had the same curtains it came with. Not too bad, thick ones, but they didn't reach the whole window and they didn't match our stuff at all. Plus they fell down all the time. Finally got sick of it and we went curtain shopping tonight! Found some decent thermal ones at JC Penny's. Didn't have the exact color I wanted, but close and it doesn't look too bad. They are khaki colored, so a little darker than what's in our couch. I didn't want to match the blue, and a lighter colored would have blended with the walls too much. Was hoping for a mauve, but they only had red, oh well. They go almost all the way to the floor and are thermal lined, so hopefully that will help with the heating, along with the plastic on them. We also picked up a couple throw pillows for the love seat and couch. They are really funky, can't describe them, I'll take a picture to post later. But they are the same color as the curtains, so it's tied together a bit more. I bought 2 blue suede pillows the other day, kids and Keith have fun playing tic tac toe with them, lol. You know, the suede can be light blue then you run your hand across it and it's a darker shade. It looks so much better in here, can't believe it took me 6 years to do some basic changes!

We also went to the cell phone store. Our contract was up and we needed new phones. Decided to check out what Verizon had to offer instead of US Cellular. We walked out a few hundred bucks less, but got some fun stuff!! 2 new phones with all the bells and whistles for less than what US Cellular would charge us! It's gonna take us a while to figure them all out. We've got unlimited texting, unlimited photo and video sending, unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited GPS navigation and unlimited email/web browsing! To get that elsewhere would have been $50-$100 more per month! Keith and I picked out the same phones, he liked the touch screen, I liked the bigger buttons for texting.

Also made a stop to Toys R Us so the kids could get the exclusive new Pokemon character for their Nintendo DS. It's a download thing, quick and simple, but you had to go to the store to get it. So the boys got that and Keith found a new PSP game on clearance he wanted, has some old school games on it.

It was now after 8pm and we didn't have dinner before we left, so Keith was kind enough to take us to Sonic :) Kaden was tired of shopping so getting Sonic made his evening!! Grab our food and was home to get the kids into bed at 9pm. Late night, they didn't get to shower, so hopefully they wake up early enough in the morning so they don't smell for school!

Salem has his Valentine party tomorrow as he doesn't have school Friday. Kaden has an early out Friday, so his party is then. They both made some fun valentines to hand out this year. No store bought sign your names one, they had to work to make these...and me too. I'll have the kids pose with them to get a shot.

Off to play with the new phones!

Short for now

Quick little blurb on today...

Salem's sick today. Not too bad, but we kept him home. He woke up 6am or so coughing and whining this morning and running a slight temp. Wasn't quite 102 which is low for him, so I gave him some cough medicine, told him to go back to sleep and then I called him in sick to school. Darn kid didn't go back to bed, but they both were awake and stayed up in their room for a while before heading downstairs. He stayed on the couch all day drinking fluids and eating, his appetite is still there!

Kaden came home and we played outside for a while then I let Salem come out and play for a bit too. It was almost 60 today, I couldn't keep him cooped up all day long. Plus he was feeling better and as long as he had the cough meds he was fine. They rode their bikes and scooters. Kaden was mad at me because I didn't let them ride their bikes through the yard. It's very soggy and muddy in spots, no need to make more ruts. But he eventually was happy playing on the driveway and sidewalk. Then he got the brilliant idea we needed to grill out tonight! Once Keith got home...and then got called back out...we ran to the store to get some burgers and stuff to grill. Kaden was very happy then! We had some YUMMY tasting burgers!!! Good idea kid!

Tomorrow it's supposed to snow and rain some :( So much for our nice weather, but we'll take it while we got it!!

Naked Pirate Boy

Sorry no pics on this one! I'm sitting at the computer sending an email and I look out into the dining room to see Kaden's almost butt wiggling in the air, kinda like he's an elephant mooning me with his hands waving on the ground. Oh he does have undies on, so not totally naked. If that wasn't funny enough, he turns around and has a pirate patch on his eye! So there's this half naked pirate boy in our dinning room. When I stopped laughing I asked him what he was doing. His answer...he wanted to make us laugh! It worked silly boy!!!

Ice vs Chin

Specifically our driveway ice vs Salem's chin...Salem's chin lost! Didn't stop Salem from continuing to slide on the ice afterwards though. Story...after school Salem stays outside until I tell him to come in or it's time to get his brother. Him and his friends throw snowballs, tromp through the snow or like today, slide on the ice on our driveway. The way the ice melts, it melts the snow along the side and makes a nice sliding spot down the one edge...nice and dangerous that is, but no way to fix it until the snow is all gone. I come out to get Salem so we can go get Kaden and his friend asks if I have a bandaid, I start digging in my purse and ask what he did. No, it was Salem who did it, darn kid wasn't going to tell me himself he has a hole in his chin! UGH! So we pick up Kaden, come home and up to the bathroom to clean it up. It's not too bad, don't think stitches would be necessary. I did use lots of peroxide (hee hee) though, heck gotta make sure it's nice and clean! Then put a nice bandaid on it and off he went. He was bummed that I said he has to wear it to school for a couple days till it gets a nice scab, but hey, better than stitches! After a few, Salem came and told me it almost blends in with his chin to which I replied I could find an Elmo or Barbie bandaid if he wanted it to stand out more, lol. I got a quick, no that's okay answer! Ah boys will be boys...off to wash his jacket now.

I passed and failed today

I passed my glucose test!! I passed by 1 point!! No 3 hour test for me!! It wasn't really that bad, although I think Kaden and I could have gone head to head with a burping battle after drinking that orange stuff. I don't mind the taste so much and it didn't give me a big sugar rush afterwards. So not too bad! I don't need to redo the test later, don't have to worry about it changing or anything, so that is nice!

I did fail my iron test. I've always been low on iron and even lower during pregnancy. I was put on iron pills a few months ago and didn't take them consistently, but have been for the past couple weeks. Another friend of mine is also preggo and was just put on the iron pills so she texts me every night to remind me to take them. I was talking 1 a day and sometimes tossing in 2 for good measure. Well that didn't work as I'm even lower now! Ob put me on some sample prescription ones to see if those help, but I only got 3 days worth...that's all he had. So I'll take those and then back to 2 of my normal ones daily. I go back in 2 weeks to see if it's upped any. Not noticing too many problems from the low iron besides loving the ice, but it's SO good :)

Otherwise everything is looking pretty good pregnancy wise. We're looking at an April 28th delivery date, but that might change. And heck babies can change it without even telling us, lol. They were looking good on the ultrasound today, quite and calm. Baby A was being the star and looking just right for the pics. Baby B wasn't so much photogenic, maybe next time! Like I said I'm going every 2 weeks now, good thing I don't have much going on!
