Poison Ivy = poor Kaden!

Poor poor poor Kaden! Somehow he contracted poison ivy from our geocaching event on saturday. It didn't show up until today too! I noticed at lunch he had bumps all over his cheek and upon further notice his arms and a couple on his back and chest. I told his teacher to keep an eye on his to see if he scratches it or not. Kaden said it wasn't itchy, I knew he wouldn't tell me if it was anyway. Afterschool, his teacher said he was itching, as well as itching "down there". So at home we checked it out, and the poor kid! He's got poison ivy THERE! Oh man, ti didn't look good, so off to the doc we went! Great sport, we had to wait 1.5 hours to see the doc! I kept having to tell him not to itch, but I understand he had to. Doc gave us a prescription for prednisone and we got some anti-steriod cream and bath stuff for him as well. Also some benedryl to offset the hyper-ness of the medicine. He took a dose of the meds and took a bath soaking in the aveeno stuff. After the bath we put the cream all over him and off to bed. He seemed to be tired, even though I didn't give him the benedryl. I hope he falls asleep, partly so he stops scratching!

Besides that, our day was uneventful. Keith worked. He got called out to help a coworker tonight. He's too nice sometimes! Salem had his book club today afterschool. He remembered to go! Probably because it was in his planner. They both have half a day tomorrow and I have to work. Not sure what the afternoon will bring us. Something to keep Kaden's mind off the itching!
