Donkey Basketball!

What a blast this was! Our high school organized donkey basketball as a fundraiser for their safe prom night. Some teachers from both Salem and Kaden's school were going to be playing. We HAD to go! It was absolutely hilarious!! If you don't know what donkey basketball is...take a guess. I thought it would be these people riding donkey's and shooting basketballs. Well that was the intention, but not muc riding was going on. You did have to be on your donkey to shoot a basket though. Our one health teacher had never even been on a horse, let alone a donkey. He was very nervous to be doing this. The other health teacher looked like a pro, he was on the donkey all the time! Our team won the first game. Then there was a junior vs senior team where seniors won. Then a championship. losers vs losers and winners vs winners. We ended up losing that game :( But that's okay, it was fun for all. Well, we'll have to see how sore everyone is tomorrow from getting kicked off the donkeys and trying to get them to move!

Bonus, during intermission, they let the kids ride a donkey (for a free will dontation). Donkey wanted to ride a donkey, so we gave him a buck and let him go. It was a short trip just along one side of the gym, but he liked it! Salem did not want to go.

Another note of interest...it was hotter here than in Florida!! After school our temp was 75 and Florida was only 74. HA! Man, it's about time we got some nice weather. Well, it wasn't completly nice, as we had winds upwards of 30! "No point in doing the hair" kind of day. I had one girl at recess tell me it was TOO hot out! I told her to go away, lol! The kids were all happy to have a no coat recess!
