Salem's all set to go for tomorrow! It's his 1st bike race ever! He's got his bike, his helmet, his camelback, his too small shorts and tie shoes. Plus a new bonus...his name on his bike!!! We've put Keith's name on all his bikes and Salem has been asking for his as well. We told him he had to earn it! Well, I think he has! No matter how he does tomorrow he has trained hard for it and put in a good effort. Not a ton of training, but it's been hard since Keith has been training himself and he's also been trying to take Salem out. Not enough daylight! That's okay, Salem has the energy and excitement to get him through tomorrow's race! We're all very excited to cheer Salem on! I hope he doesn't get too squirrely excited though and lose his concentration.
The race is in Bettendorf and Salem's race starts at 11am. He also races with the beginners and Cat4's, so we're not expecting to see him get a lot of laps in since those guys will be much faster than him. They will be racing for 30 minutes plus 2 laps. Keith races at noon and goes 45 minutes plus 2 laps. We've got another HBA guy racing tomorrow too, so that will be nice.
