The fish are still alive!

I didn't kill them! Last night Kaden and I changed the water on the fish tank. I failed to add the dechlorination juice to the new water. Okay I really thought it was just something the fish people say the tanks must need, you know a money maker. So I thought I'd see what happens without it. Well, I guess our fish needs it! A few minutes after Kaden got them back in the tank the one started acting really weird! He would be on the bottom and then nose dive towards the top and just hang there. Then he'd freak out and swim all over the tank and then do the routine again. I thought I killed that one for sure! And then the 3 others started all floating to the top and just laying there. But, if you tapped on the glass they'd freak out and be fine...and then go back to floating. Oh crap, I was seriously concerned I had killed all 4 of them in one shot! I knew the water temp was fine and then remembered the dechlorination stuff. I called my mom who said that what I did was like dropping them in a pool full of chlorine. OOPS! I guess the reason I never had to add that stuff to the fish I had growing up is because we were always on well water, not city water like here. So I quickly added some of the stuff and left them alone. The kids did have fun watching them float and then freak, sick kids! They were not too concerned, said we could just buy more new ones for 28¢ at Walmart. I guess they need a lesson on animals and caring for them and how they are not disposable! I checked on them before bed and they were doing fine. This morning they are back to normal! Thank goodness!!!
