But they are fast asleep, no messing around in bed for them!! I think we actually wore them out today. Well, I take that back, they wore themselves out today!
Started off with the boys and I going to the new doctors office opening. Their doctor moved to a new office with all sorts of child care office's in it. There are 4 different buildings that are new. I can't remember what thay all cover. So they had a grand opening with games and free things, snacks and fun! The first 200 kids also got free helmets! The kids really wanted that so we got there right at opening. Walked around a did a few things before we were able to find the helmets. They both got new ones, cool!! There is also a HUGE playground for the kids. It is awesome, has really cool equipment!! So they played on there, we also got their fingerprints done, had some lemonade and cookies...a few of those. Got lots of freebies such as little bottles of sunscreen, chapstick, key chains, pencils, coffee mugs, magnet clips, cases of bandaids. Um what else? Candy from the games. Kaden had to use his chapstick right away, lol. The boys stood in line for over 20 minutes waiting for a balloon animal from the balloon guy. He was really good. Kaden had him make a guitar and Salem got a sword & belt. The guy blows them up with his mouth, no air pump. I can't imagine, plus he said he was at a huge event yesterday for hours and then this one for 4 hours today. Oh Cat in the Hat was there too. We ended up staying for 2 hours!
While dinner was cooking, the boys went over to the neighbors house. They have 2 girls and our kids play together alot. I went over to talk to their dad. Their family has similar views in that we don't let our kids outside very often without and adult there. We don't let our kids wander the streets, heck we don't let ours in the street at all. Unlike the rest of the neighborhood where the kids wander far away from their house and a parent is never in sight. The dad is into cars and we just get along well. So I was out talking with him. Keith was working on his bike and I realized as I was talking, I was hoping he was working on dinner too! He was! The neighbors have a big yard with a big hill, so the kids and a few other neighbors were riding their bikes all over having a blast.
Finally it was dinner time and we all split up. We had some yummy seasoned chicken on the grill and corn...although not corn on the cob, frozen stuff...but cooked. Then it was shower and bed time! I forgot to clip their nails so we'll have to do that tomorrow morning, they are getting quite long!
At yesterday's event, the carnival at the church thing, they had some nurses doing weight and height checks. They both are both growing great! Kaden is in the 60% weight and 95% height percentiles. Salem is 60% in weight and 80% in height. The kicker is Salem is only 3 inches taller than Kaden!! That's it, 3 inches!! Now they did both go through a growth spurt over the fall/winter, Kaden's was later in the season and I think he had more of a spurt! I really hope he doesn't outgrow Salem, that would be bad!
We had a great weekend! I was calculating and not counting gas money, we only spent $10 ($6 candy for Salem to pass in the parade and $4 for the inflatables) and got way more than that in free stuff and had TONS of fun!! Wish Keith wouldn't have been on call to enjoy it with us though.
Now it's time for us to crash!! Keith and I edged the whole sidewalk today and took out the grass growing between the cracks. It's been years since we did that. Our sidewalk is about 4 inches wider now!! Oh, the Boston cooler is again yummy tonight!!
