Busy week so far!

Monday was a busy day! Tuesday was a busy day! Wednesday was a busy morning! Now it's time to relax!

Monday I had meetings to go to. Both at FMI and back to back. One was for the Fall fling they are putting on, kinda like a carnival. The other was the normal PTO meeting right afterwards. I didn't get home till 7:45. When Keith came home he took the kids over to Beverly park to ride their bikes! It's a local mountain bike trail system on the other side of town. The boys had a blast, but Kaden was a bit slower and not as smooth on the log crossings and such. Which is to be expected, but it resents a problem when Keith takes them both out. Keith and Salem need to go out to train, Kaden wants to go out just to have fun riding. So you can't take them both and accomplish those things. After I got home we drove up to Starry to see how the Cub Scout recruiting night was going. Show up and only the couple leaders are left, it was all over. We still ended up talking for a bit until the kids got too restless and we left to grab some pizza for dinner. I guess the bears (my old den) have 6 new recruits! Wow, that's 15 kids! Glad I'm not in charge of that anymore! I do have to plan a meeting for Monday though. Better get one that!

Tuesday morning I got a phone call from our landlord telling us the city was coming to do their 3 year inspection on Wednesday morning! Oh crap!! The house is a pig sty, the playroom is beyond repair! Guess I know what I'm doing all day! So I cleaned all day, actual cleaning just not tossing stuff in boxes and hiding it, lol. Keith had planned on going bike riding at Sugar Bottom, but when he checked at lunch it was closed. That gives us more time to clean then! But then I had to go check about 4pm and the trails were now open!! I guess it dried out enough for them. So I said I had done a bunch of cleaning and if the kids did some good work in their playroom we could go down there. So at 5pm it wasn't too bad and we got ready to go. The kids were super excited!!

You have to ride (me walk) down a long dirt road to get into some of the trails. There is a covered shelter about halfway down so I stayed there while Keith and Salem took off on the harder trails. There is a smaller loop that Kaden was to ride on. I can sit at the shelter and see him go in and come out, so it was okay. He only rode it 2 times before saying it was scary out there alone and too many bugs. So he instead rode around where I was sitting. It's all flat grass/gravel but he was busy trying to do wheelies the whole time. The trails were quite busy last night. Lots of bikers and people walking their dogs back in there. After 45 minutes Keith and Salem come out and find out they didn't even do the whole system, still had 3+ miles to go. But it was getting dark so they stopped. Now we couldn't leave without Keith taking Kaden on some of the trickier trails, so off they went for a quick run. Got back to the car as the sun was setting.

Salem is not going to be riding the junior race this Sunday. If it was a shorter course he would, but it's too long for him, he'd be in there forever! So we'll wait and try another race.

Another yucky dinner, grabbed some McDonalds on the way home. It was really good, but so unhealthy!! I need to go to the store and get some food. We used up all our ground beef the other day and I need to get some cheese. I want to make Salem favorite cheesey pasta bake tonight. I don't think we're doing anything. Oh Keith is going back down to Sugar Bottom to ride with some "fast" guys. I hope he's able to get a few laps in before sundown. The trails have not been open a lot due to all the rain we've gotten. It's been touchy whether the race would be a go or not. So far it is! After we get home, eat and get the kids in bed, Keith and I tackle the house again. We ended up calling it quits at midnight. It's pretty darn done at that point.

So that brings us to today! Inspection day! I'm up finishing picking up. I realize this morning the dishwasher is dirty and full and I have a sink full of dishes, ugh! I wash up a few of the bigger ones and leave it alone. I then have to vacuum the whole house, upstairs and down. And then do a final walk through making sure nothing is too messy. It doesn't have to be spotless. They just check for safety issues, smoke detectors and screens in the windows, things like that. Lady shows up at 10:30. Good, all clean! Landlord shows up shortly afterwards. So she does a walk through points out a couple things, nothing major and is on her way 20 minutes later! landlord has to fix the leaking roof in the laundry room. He says he's working on it...I mutter he's been working on it for over a year now! The outside of the house needs some scrapping and repainting, the front porch needs to be fixed so it stops buckling. Oh, she wanted to see the inside of the garage too, ugh! Last time they didn't need to since it's not attached to the house. I knew Keith had been taking stuff out there yesterday. I had bags and boxes set for goodwill or a garage sale (not sure what I'm doing with it) and some extra junk. I wasn't sure how disastrous the garage was, but I was gonna find out! I warned her about the mess! We looked and she said it wasn't too bad, that's what garages were for, all the junk! Landlord also has to scrap and paint part of the garage too, it's been beaten by the weather!

So over all it wasn't too bad. The house is very clean! And I can sit on my happy butt the rest of the day...Keith told me to :) I've gotta get some pics up of the kids riding their bikes off in the woods, so I'll work on that today.
