Parade went pretty well. It started off chilly and we debated whether to wear a long sleeve shirt under our uniforms, but we went short sleeve. The day turned out nice, so glad we wore the short. Our pack only had 4 kids and 3 of those were the leaders kids that also showed up. But hey, we showed up and marched! Salem marched with FMI and he said it was a blast! We bought him a bucket full of sour gum to pass out. Kaden and I with the cub scouts and I didn't bring anything because the council usually provides stuff. Only figures this year they didn't. The other 2 leaders did bring some goodies. Kaden helped pass some out. I walked with Josh (the tiger leader) and he was tossing a bunch. I had to watch myself as he was wild with his tossing hitting a few other scouts, oops. Kaden seemed very proud to be walking. I didn't get any shots of Salem walking because they were in front of us.
After we had finished the parade the we stayed and watched the rest of the parade and the kids got some candy. When it was done we walked around the city park checking out the food vendors and crafts for sale. Nothing too exciting, but we did find the kid zone. It's a fenced off area with inflatables. You bought a wristband for $2 each and they got to jump on them all unlimited times. They got to jump/slide and stuff on them a few times before it got too busy and long wait times. Then we walked home. Got changed and then headed over to a church down the road. The church has a fun fair every year after the parade, but we've never attended. I figure it's about time the kids and I go. I didn't bring my camera for this so no pics. They have free food and games. The kids ate some hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and sno cones! That was their favorite part, the sno cones! The games weren't too bad, basic carnival games. Prizes were all donated stuffed animals, so hokey a bit, but the kids had fun. There was also a dunk tank. Salem dunked the guy his first round. Kaden took 3 rounds of 3 tries to get the guy, but man was he SO excited when he did!! I finally had to call it quits, my feet were tired from walking all day. The boys wanted to go and play outside. Which was fine, they played I relaxed in a chair.
